While the fight is very straightforward, we believethat it is very refreshing in that it allows players to aim at maximisingtheir output rather than having to deal with various complex mechanics. In all difficulties, Ultraxion has a very low chance to drop Experiment B. The encounter against Ultraxion is a single phase encounter, the difficultyof which increases over time.

The fight has both a hard and a soft enragetimer, ensuring that close to or at the 6 minute mark, your raid willunavoidably wipe.

The encounter does not present any complicated mechanics, although it doescontain two very punishing abilities, which must be dealt with perfectly eachtime. Additionally, the fight requires a tank switch as well as a strong amountof AoE healing. For the whole duration of the fight, the boss and the raid willremain stationary. The five Aspects Alexstrasza, Ysera, Kalecgos, Nozdormu and Thrall offervarious buffs to your raid, during the encounter. These buffs do nottrivialise the fight, but rather make it possible to complete.

The encounter takes place in two realms: the Twilight Realm and the Normal Realm. Both of these realms are just regular realms. For the vast majority of the encounter,the raid will be within the Twilight Realm. Raid members will only need to enterthe Normal Realm when they have to avoid specific abilities that Ultraxionuses. This occurs several times during the fight. The only way to exit the Twilight Realm is by using the Heroic Will ability. This is an encounter specific ability, that appears on your screenin the form of a special action bar that looks like this:.

Heroic Will has a 5 second cooldown and has no resource cost. It is off theGlobal Cooldown and it can be used even while you are casting or channelinganother spell. Using Heroic Willhas no beneficial effects. It merely removes you from the Twilight Realm for5 seconds as we said, this is useful for avoiding certain mechanics.

Duringthose 5 seconds, you are unable to perform any action whatsoever deal damage,heal or even move. Thebutton may may not display properly or at all if you are using any actionbar add-ons, although this does not affect the aforementioned key-binding'sefficiency.

Alternatively, you can use the following macro:. Clicking this macro which, of course, can be keybound , has the sameeffect as clicking the Heroic Will button.

The five aspects provide various buffs to your raid. Thrall buffs yourtanks, Alexstrasza, Ysera and Kalecgos buff your healers and Nozdormu buffsyour entire raid. These buffs are given to your raid at different times duringthe fight, and we will present them in the order in which they appear.

At the start of the fight, Thrall will permanently buff all tanks with Last Defender of Azeroth. The healing buffs technically speaking, they are debuffs are given to the raid with the following timings:. When an aspect provides the raid with one of these buffs, correspondingcrystals 1 in man difficulty and 2 in man and LFR difficulties arecreated on the platform at fixed locations. Healers, and only healers, havethe ability to right-click a crystal and gain the corresponding buff.

Each healer can only gain a single one of these buffs. Each buff lastsuntil the end of the encounter. If the healer dies, the buff is lost and itcannot be regained if the healer is resurrected in combat, the buff will notpersist. In either difficulty setting, all healers shouldbe benefitting from one buff by the end of the encounter. This buff prevents players from dying, once. Ultraxion is stationary for the entire duration of the encounter and cannot beattacked from behind.

To compensate for this, he cannot parry attacks. At least oneplayer must always be in melee range of Ultraxion, otherwise he will unleash ahighly damaging, raid-wide AoE attack that will most likely wipe you. As shown on the screenshot on the left, your raid should stack close to the base of the stairs andnot next to the boss. This will not trigger Twilight Burst asUltraxion has a massive hitbox.

Such a position will ensure that the healersspend as little time as possible getting to the crystals for receiving theirbuff. Stacking makes AoE healing most efficient and no one in the raid exceptthe healers once per fight should ever have to move. And the third pair of drakes will have a Twilight Sapper at the same time as well. Goriona will land — just nuke her until she gets low and decides to fly off.

To start the fight, speak to Sky Captain Swayze again — doing so will start another cutscene, which I normally escape out of so that I can kill the first three corruption tentacles as you float down. When you killed the corruption tentacles, a hideous amalgamation will spawned from each. However we only really want one up and we want to control when it is up.

So how to get these extra three away from us? When you do that grasping tendrils hold you in place whilst doing some damage to you. Then kite it over the corpses of the bloods which are slowly working their way back to the nearest tentacle socket. Once the hideous amalgamation has gotten nine stacks of the blood and has started to send out AoE pulses of fire — DBM again is handy here to tell you stacks — you need to kill it next to the armored plate.

Only one side will be exposed — you can control which by killing the Hideous Amalgamation more to one side than the other. The burning tendon only remains attackable for a short time before its cast of Seal Armor Breach finishes — you have around 18 seconds. Not having to worry about the roll makes killing it in the short time its up easier.

The best way to show the fun of this fight is to watch it. The green target is me putting an Earthquake down. Away fly the amalgamations! So it exploded without lifting up the plate; nice demo of what not to do I guess!

Kill the corruption tendril and kite the amalgamation over the pools of blood until it has absorbed 9 stacks. Kite to the edge of the plate and kill it. For melee this will mean ensuring that you have an empty socket next to the side the burning tendril is on — you can arrange this by killing the amalgamation in the right place — Plate has been blown up; kill the Burning Tendon exposed before it can pull the plate back down again — Plate flies away, to expose… two more corrupting tendrils!

Just one more to go! Get the loot — mostly likely some trinkets which have a good vendor value — whilst you wait. And the carrying winds can often bug out, sending you back where you came from! When the fight starts four limb tentacles will spawn, one on each island. So I tend to work north, killing the tentacles as I go before heading back for the last. You MUST kill these. You can ignore the blistering tentacles which spawn — they do almost no real damage to you. Rogue mutated corruptions are often the reason for this fight reseting.

After the four limb tentacles are dead, jump back to the starting platform — just one jump back north — to kill Deathwing himself. Nice guide! Basically it involves you using a keybind macro to toggle heroic at the same time you confirm the start of the encounter.

Comment by Hoofen We could use some tips with this on 10 man Heroic. We have been stuck for two weeks on this fight and no matter what we seem to change up we always come up short. Both our healers are pushing 35k and even they say they are not having that much of an issue.

It may simply be a lack of DPS but their numbers appear pretty good so I am not sure. Our mechanics seem strong, we normally don't lose anyone early or to something simple. I am wondering if anyone has any suggustions about mabey changing the rotation up to possibly push a little extra dps or any suggestions at all to help us over this bump?

And also what should the dps numbers be on average for the 6 Dps for this fight? Comment by Hoofen Here is a quick run down for tanking this fight. I will give you the MT and OT point of view. MT should attempt to keep agro at all times accept when he gets Fading Light and needs to hit the button. Apon returning to the twilight realm after the button fades he should taunt back. Just be ready to taunt back right away if he is not doing his job.

I never rely on the other tank in LFR. The amount of damage done by Hour of Twilight is minimal, even for those tanks that dont have a cooldown for every cast. So I try to keep agro throughout the entire fight other then the minimal time I am out the Twilight Realm for Fading Light. I wait until there is less then 2 seconds left on my debuff to hit my button and then taunt back right away. But if your latency is bad that may be cutting it to close so that is something you will need to test for yourself.

By the time the next HoT rolls around, everything but Icebound should be off CD, it will hit you for more this time, but should be easily soaked up. And by the time of the 3rd, Icebound will be off CD and you can rinse, repeat, and have a dead Ultraxion without having to worry about who will take which HoT.

This boss requires a lot of dps and the use of your heroism is crucial. We found it easiest to do it at 20 mil but can be most efficient if you pop hero at start as you dont have to think about Fading Light then.

We did it with the setup: 2 healers: Druid and paladin, better combos does exist, this one wasnt very good but worked 2 tanks: Warrior and Paladin. We found it great to have a paladin who could use the reduced damage taken for all raid members, except the paladin himself, at the end of Ultraxion 6 dps: Any type of dps is fine, as long as they deal the necessary dps which i will continue on below.

Though soaking the Hour of Twilights you need a few classes able to do that. Barkskin works fine if you enter bearform first, as i found it hard to stay alive with just barkskin in cat. On 10 man heroic the health pool of Ultraxion is 72 million After the nerf ofc. The enrage timer is 6 minutes and if we assume the tanks do Comment by Wolvigar I'd like to point out that, for Unholy Death Knights, using Anti-Magic Shell from the beginning, and then every time it's off of cool-down would be a very good idea.

The periodic AoE he does is counted as a magic attack, which you can absorb and turn into runic power, if you're spec'd into Magic Suppression. You'll keep getting full bars of runic power until after Anti-Magic Shell is over, meaning you can continually cast Death Coil for more damage on Ultraxion. Comment by Ellinna I believe Ultraxion is on the same difficulty of easy as Morchok. Here was my group set up for 10 man heroic with me as their Paladin healer. It took less healing. On the second go around, our Mage would Ice Block through the Twilight. Glyphing for your Divine Protection is very crucial if you're looking to take the Twilight without the bubble, since Twilight is magical and not physical.

Since our Shaman and Druid didn't have very good defensive CD's, I used my Hand of Sacrifice on our Druid or our Shaman depending on which went in to increase their survivability. Healing this was a piece of cake, honestly.

It's no harder than regular, just more health and having an assignment to groups, and assignments to crystals. We popped Heroism right at the start, with both our healers phased out via clicking button so that the healers would get the Hero towards the end, since we were killing him in under 10 minutes. Note: If a 3rd or more people stay out for Hour of Twilight, you're toast dead! Comment by Aerozia I wish someone would actually say what dps are supposed to do.

It's very important to use AMS on cd, not only because almost all damage is magical on this fight, but also to get runic power with it, which translates into dps with a lot of rune strikes.

Just sec after. If you're undergeared and the fight is taking over 5 mins, you can use the special button to survive the damage until AMS or IBF get ready if they're on cd, it's a strategy. It is not fading light, and the combat log just says that I am dying, no damage, no overkill as if I WAS dying to fading light? Anyone have some insight? Could be that I am a monk and somehow that effects fading light but can't say for sure.

This fight is essentially a DPS check 6-minute enrage timer , but you don't necessarily need BiS gear to beat it as a Disc. Each minute that the fight goes on, Ultraxion's damage ramps up.

You could drop Glyph of Penance for this fight if you wanted to because there's really not any running around, but I'd keep Smite for the extra DPS.

Comment by Kaiasha Just a warning, this guy is a bit tough when soloing heroic, you have to burn his 6. Alternatively you could get a partner. It was kind of a tight fit about 5 seconds left , but I managed to pull it off. Big suggestion to any other Warriors who plan to solo this on heroic, make sure you spec into Second Wind , as Ultraxion hits pretty damn hard and you can easily sustain yourself with the leech effect.

I can post the macro incase any other Arms Warriors are interested. Best of luck! Make sure to pre-pot and try to pool up some rage near the end so you can quickly finish him off with Execute spam or else you might not make the enrage timer.

I went in on a poorly-geared 90 rogue who was going for the legendaries as I imagine many people are and my friend who was 98 and Ultraxion cast Hour of Twilight. We both used cooldowns and didn't go in to the other realm.

However, if Hour of Twilight does not hit at least three people he will then cast Twilight Eruption which has a five second cast and wipes the raid. We wiped a couple of times, then did better dps and lived. So if you go with less than three people you have to kill him shortly after he casts Hour of Twilight or else it's game over. Before pull, pop ancient hysteria with the ray, dismiss him and turn in multistrike buff from LW.

When you go below k hp, use exhiliration and other healing cooldowns you have potions etc. Good luck. Comment by Seahnjin This guy is pretty frustrating when you're soloing. The fact that his attack around the one minute mark is an instant kill feels like artificial difficulty. I barely managed to down him in man as a ilvl rogue, but LFR is a no-go, I'm guessing that's because there is no zone-wide debuff decreasing his HP.

It's unfortunate because I love the LFR skins of a lot of the weapons there. This plus the overall low drop rate Ah well. I'll get better gear once I have more time to play.

Comment by squirrely Soloable as a ilvl ret pally man First attempt failed because i didnt know the mechanics and died at twilight second attempt i downed him as he was casting it. I did have to pop heal a couple times but fairly easy as ret.

Comment by Rizzwhit Important note: attempting to solo this is a DPS race, since at 45 seconds he will automatically cast Hour of Twilight, which will shatter the Aspects' shield and cause him to start casting his raidwipe suicide ability.

In man difficulty, at least 1 player must remain within the Twilight Realm and take damage from this ability, otherwise the raid will instantly wipe. In man, 3 players must do the same. Comment by SardonicScribe So um I just did it on 25 with a meager item level.

BM Hunter. Got him down while he was casting. Who knew? Comment by stym in 25H mode this is currently a pretty tight DPS race he will wipe you shortly after the first hour of twilight. I then used a flask, food and prepot and downed him in 44 seconds.

This is going to be progressively easier during the expansion, and a breeze for everyone after patch 6. It's that simple, no shortcuts. Comment by Hamnyr I was kinda sweating it before the pull. If your H BRF geared, this fight is very trivial. Setup for single-target dps and burst him down.

With Sanctified Wrath and Seraphim, I was pulling over k dps. Encounter was over in 19 secs. Thanks all for the read ahead! And it was close. He almost went boom and killed me. I had some cheap buffs on so, with a good flask and food it would have been less close. Really all the strategy is is to just hammer him down with DPS. Comment by RiyanGarrosh For my fellow s looking to solo this First of all, you have to speak to Kalecgos at the top of the tower to begin the encounter. This is actually the bit of info I was initially looking for. Second, kill the drakes flying around the edge during the initial phase to provide enough room to move around and not get killed by the purple-pools-of-death.

I'm a rogue, and simply spamming Throw was enough. Once you kill the adds and actually get to Ultraxion, the adds will NOT respawn Third, Ultraxion himself is a very simple tank-and-spank fight. Comment by Johnsphil With the stat squish of 8. This resulted in me not being able to open the chest and get any loot. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, it may just be a one off. Keep this in mind if you're trying for the mount from him. I never got the loot later in the mail, either. View in 3D Links. Unstable Monstrosity — Growing Twilight instability causes arcs of Twilight energy to erupt from Ultraxion's hide. The arcs inflict Shadow damage every 6 seconds, split evenly amongst enemy players in the Twilight Realm and within 30 yards of the target. Every minute that Ultraxion remains in combat reduces the time between arcs by 1 second, to a maximum rate of one arc per second.

In addition, the instability prevents Ultraxion from parrying attacks. Twilight Shift — At the beginning of the battle, Ultraxion pulls all enemies with him into the Twilight Realm where they can bear the full brunt of his powerful Twilight assaults. The Twilight Realm grants players the Heroic Will ability. This pulls the caster out of the Twilight realm for up to 5 sec, but renders them unable to attack, cast spells, or move while concentrating. Fading Light — Ultraxion sucks the light out of his current target and one random player, drawing them into Twilight over seconds.

Upon expiration, players in the Twilight Realm instantly die. Players in the normal realm forcibly enter the Twilight Realm, and are afflicted with Faded into Twilight.
