Visiting this location is a must for any Skyrim sightseer, and it's no surprise because it has a cool back story that is rivaled by few others in the game. This location is only accessible while the quest "Rise In The East" is active. The quest will see the player sailing off to this island that is home to many different bandits, and the only notable location on this iceberg is a keep that players can explore. Without spoiling the quest, players will find a bunch of enemies and loot at this location, and it is only available once while completing the quest.
Players should make the most out of their time at Japhet's Pholly and see everything that they want to before eventually completing the quest and sailing back to Skyrim. There are a total of five Orc Strongholds located throughout Skyrim, and there are many interesting characters and quests to complete for these groups of Orcs. The most notable of these quests being a Daedric quest called "A Cursed Tribe" and fans can obtain a powerful Warhammer if they follow the quest in its entirety.
The orcs strongholds are somewhat out of the way of the normal path, but they are worth adventuring to if a traveler would like to meet some interesting new characters. If fans follow the quest for finding this location, then they will obtain a special piece of equipment that they can use to further their combat prowess. These special equipment include a Crown, Shield, or Staff. It's worth following this quest even though it takes a few hours to complete because seeing this location and the ancient forge is a memory worth having.
There are also a few chests that fans can find if they traverse the lava around the forge itself, so it is worth exploring the underground dungeon if fans have the time.
Frostmoon Crag is located on the island of Solstheim, and it is home to many different werewolves that will be peaceful with the player if they are a werewolf themselves. The most notable thing about this hidden location is that the werewolves will sell the player a few special rings to improve their ability while transformed. This location is completely out of the way, but it is worth the time that it takes to travel to it because the player will become an even more powerful version of their already strong werewolf form.
Winterhold prison is a jail cell that most players will never get the chance to see. It resides outside of Winterhold itself, and instead of the usual guards, it will have Frost Atronachs guarding its entrance.
Preoccupied by the death of his best friend, the giant remains dormant unless attacked. If you stand next to him, you might notice a sad look in his eyes. This hidden event shows the kindness of the giants and will make you regret the deaths of all giants and mammoths in the game.
Bleakcoast Cave has a great aesthetic as a dungeon made entirely of ice and snow. Hidden within the beautiful dungeon is the greatest easter egg within Skyrim.
An upside down skeleton is frozen into the ceiling of Bleakcoast Cave; beneath the skeleton lie bloody bones and a glowing, enchanted sword. The wampa resembles a Yeti—as do the four Frost Trolls found in Bleakcoast Cave—and is seen consuming other bodies before Luke grabs his lightsaber and slays the wampa. The victim within Bleakcoast Cave must have failed in retrieving his sword; despite all the magic within Skyrim, only Luke can use the Force to escape dire situations.
Shriekwind Bastion is amazing in multiple ways. The dungeon centers around a massive stone wall built within an underground cavern. Because of the epic content within Shriekwind Bastion, players might miss a door leading to a small closet. Inside the secret closet are over a dozen pairs of shoes. The image is disturbingly reminiscent of the Holocaust; the shoes likely belonged to the skeletons roaming the area, who the vampires probably devoured and reanimated.
The closet wonderfully complicates the dungeon by including a creepy mystery and creating sympathy for the skeletons. When you first enter the Dwarvish ruins of Kagrenzel, the dungeon seems small. You quickly reach a dead end within a massive, cubic room with a circle in the center. When you enter the room, an orb of golden light appears above the circle—revealing two corpses next to the orb. Any sane person would immediately flee, but as a video game player you of course have to investigate.
A cage entraps you when you touch the orb, and the orb itself blares like an alarm. After a minute, the floor will vertically rotate and drop you into an underground tunnel. The tunnel is narrow and long, making the fall difficult to survive. Making your way back to the surface is extremely fun; the underground cavern looks amazing thanks to strange minerals that make the ceiling glow a dark blue color. Very few dungeons lead you so far underground and no dungeons include the thrilling trap which greets you at Kagrenzel.
Players must then speak to Atub, an Orc who may be killed by you, the giant, or anyone else before she can give you her quest. You must traverse through an underground dungeon to reach the small, outdoor grove, where a single giant and a Shrine of Malacath await. Located at the eastern edge of the map, Yngol Barrow is a highly unvisited dungeon that possesses one of the most magical atmospheres in the game.
Apart from the boss, no enemies populate the dungeon, allowing players to relax and appreciate the beautiful dungeon filled with fog and blue lighting. Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search.
Under Stats General, there is a counter for Locations Discovered at the top. What is the maximum number one can achieve in this? I have tried googling the answer but I am not able to find satisfactory answer. There are some self reports of people achieving , or in various places in internet and some obviously wrong answers like , but strangely enough I am not able to find definite answer for this.
Is there a way to find out a definitive answer? Well according to the Skyrim wiki there are locations. Link is here. Another link in the wiki states there are This includes locations in cities as well. Sorry I misread your question. This link is to gamshee and show all the locations just on the skyrim world map which should all be discoverable. There is a total of locations on this map. I have found on xbox That includes all dlc including the 3 land plots you get in hearth fire.
Now I can't discover the 4 imperial camps due to the choices I made in game, but this should be actually total. I compared to an online map when I had and found 2 plus 4 imperial camps that I did not have on my ingame map.
In one of my games I found map locations, I think the total number of map locations is around the mark. Sign up to join this community. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top.
